It was on the Plains of Abraham that French troops lost to the British during a noteworthy battle in Canadian history.

Given the site's significant heritage, the Plains of Abraham were named a National Historic Park of Canada. Battlefields Park is also one of the most prestigious urban parks in the world.

History buffs will want to visit the Plains of Abraham Museum to learn more about the battles that took place here in 1759 and 1760, either through an interactive museum experience or a guided tour.

Battlefields Park is an outdoor recreational site, right in the heart of the city! In the winter, you can go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing along the groomed trails, or go skating on the ice ring. In the summer, the park becomes a popular picnic area, where you can eat your lunch under the shade of a century-old maple tree, go jogging, watch an outdoor concert at the Edwin Bélanger Bandstand or read a book while relaxing in the Joan of Arc Garden.
