Whether you’re looking to book a summer vacation or fall getaway, take a break from the everyday or play in the snow, spending time at a ski resort or lakeside resort can be a great option. With all the activities and meal options on site, you don’t have to do a lot of advance planning or even take your car. Sound like your kind of vacation? Here are a few Québec City resorts that have a lot to offer.

  • 1

    Station touristique Duchesnay

A getaway at Station touristique Duchesnay is a total breath of fresh air. Which may be why the resort’s 14 new cottages are called Oxygène cabins. Modern and cozy as they are, though, you’ll still want to get outside during your stay.

The Duchesnay site stretches out for 89 km2, so there’s tons to see and do. You can go hiking or cross-country skiing, try various activities with a guide, or take on the Arbraska tree-top ropes course, which leads to a spectacular viewpoint of Lac Saint-Joseph. Since it’s also a lakeside resort, Station Duchesnay is great for getting out on the water in the summer. And after a day of playing outside, you can enjoy a fine meal at the hotel and then cozy up by the fire.

    Hôtel Valcartier

This Québec City resort is the stuff of childhood dreams. Wake up to a view of the waterslides (or the tubing runs in winter!) and get ready for a big day of fun. If the weather isn’t cooperating, Bora Parc features 14 waterslides, a wave pool, and other attractions—all in a tropical indoor environment. In the winter, the resort is also home to Hôtel de Glace, an enchanting hotel made of ice and snow.

After all that excitement, you’ll want to take time to relax at the Aroma Spa or in one of the rooms and suites designed for families. In summer or winter, time spent at Hôtel Valcartier delivers magic moments for kids big and small, making it a perfect family resort.

    Manoir du Lac Delage

This lakeside resort near the mountains is a great place to get away, with rooms and suites, all recently renovated. In the summer, try paddleboarding or go canoeing or pedal-boating on Lac Delage with the kids. There are also volleyball and basketball courts for your energetic teens.

Want to get out and explore? The Manoir du Lac-Delage is right next to a park with beautiful marshlands, Les Marais du Nord, and a mountain biking park, Empire 47. Need to relax? Treat yourself to a spa treatment at the wellness centre and try the fabulous food at the hotel restaurant.

You’ll find the rooms in this boutique hotel supremely comfortable and well appointed, with a beautiful combination of rustic and modern elements. In the summertime, you can listen to the soothing sounds of the Akiawenrahk' River, which runs past every room.

Round out your immersion in Huron-Wendat culture with a meal at La Traite, the resort’s award-winning restaurant and Onhwa' Lumina, an enchanted multimedia experience. Hot tip: this is the Québec City resort that’s closest to the city centre.

There’s nothing cozier than a log cabin with a fire crackling in the fireplace. So just imagine how you’ll feel in a little village of more than 70 log cabins in the Portneuf forest. Pretty cozy! Au Chalet en Bois Rond is a family resort that makes it easy to get away.

The resort gives you access to five different lakes and a beautiful river, so there’s tons to do outdoors in every season. Try the traditional sugar shack in the spring and order prepared meals ready to heat and serve in your cabin.
