Québec City Landmarks

A defining feature of Québec City's skyline, Château Frontenac is one of the most famous buildings in Canada. This grand hotel, perched atop Cap Diamant, offers breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence River. Its striking architecture and historical significance make it a must-see landmark.

This historical fortress, shaped like a typical Vauban-style star fortification, is a key part of Québec City's defensive system and a National Historic Site of Canada. 

One of the original gates to the walled city, Porte Saint-Jean is a historic landmark that offers a glimpse into Québec City's fortified past. Nearby, you'll find the Capitole de Québec, a historic theater, and a popular outdoor skating rink in winter, adding to the area's charm. 

The Parliament Building is a striking example of Second Empire architecture. The main facade of the building is adorned with 26 bronze statues paying tribute to founders, explorers, military figures, missionaries, politicians, and administrators. One of the oldest commercial streets in North America, Rue du Petit-Champlain is a bustling pedestrian street filled with boutiques, cafes, and artisan shops. In winter, it's the perfect destination for a stroll in a setting worthy of the most beautiful Christmas tales.

Connecting Upper and Lower Town, the Breakneck Stairs are one of the oldest staircases in the city. Climbing these steep steps offers a charming way to explore different levels of the historic district. 

The Funicular railway offers a quick and scenic ride between Upper Town and Lower Town. It provides a unique perspective of the city's steep terrain and historical landmarks.
