From their beginnings in 2010 in intimate jazz clubs to major concerts at prestigious festivals on both sides of the Atlantic, The Brooks have built a formidable reputation as a groove powerhouse. Their fifth album, Soon As I Can (2024), elevates their dance-driven energy to new heights.
At the heart of this musical supergroup is the sheer joy of playing, a deep sense of camaraderie, and true artistic freedom. Electrifying both on record and live, The Brooks' music is driven by bouncing rhythms, blazing horns, inventive keyboards, and mesmerizing guitar lines, blending funk, soul, R&B, afrobeat, and jazz.
Bringing together bassist Alexandre Lapointe, singer and trombonist Alan Prater, guitarist Philippe Look, and percussionist Philippe Beaudin, The Brooks are far more than just the sum of their parts: they are a celebration of over 50 years of evolution in Afro-American music, honoring its roots while remaining firmly grounded in the present.
