Word is Bond. The Sound of Rap Queb

Trace the history of hip-hop culture in Quebec, its various facets, and the role it plays in our society.

Hip-hop emerged in Quebec in the late 1970s. Long considered a marginal culture, it now holds a significant place in Quebec society.

Yesterday as today, hip-hop culture is a symbol of richness and cultural diversity. It resonates with social concerns and brings about important cultural changes. Its emergence reflects the journey taken to recognize and amplify all Quebec voices, as well as the path that still lies ahead.

An exhibition developed in collaboration with hip-hop artist and lecturer Webster.
