Crowds : Humans in Interaction

There are good and bad memories associated with crowds for everyone. Surrounded by others, we can be overcome with enthusiasm, but can also be pushed around in every direction. From these interactions, many collective phenomena occur and are examined in the exhibition Crowds.

How are dense crowds from large gatherings studied? What are the unspoken rules we all follow, unknowingly, when we are surrounded by other people? How are the large opinion trends created on social media?

Having received numerous critiques, crowds have often been perceived in the collective imagination as a strange, and even disturbing creature. Based on the most recent interdisciplinary research principles, Crowds intends to tackle the negative image that has been overshadowing it for too long.
