Wynton Marsalis

Et le Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

Wynton Marsalis, musical director and trumpeter of the JLCO, originally from New Orleans, has won 9 GRAMMY Awards. His oratorio Blood on the Fields was the first jazz composition to win the Pulitzer Prize for music. Under his leadership, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) brings together 15 of today's finest jazz soloists and ensemble musicians. The orchestra has been in residence at Jazz at Lincoln Center since 1988 and spends over a third of the year touring internationally. Their performance at the Grand Théâtre de Québec is a must-see event for every jazz enthusiast!

The JLCO also features talented musicians who have performed and recorded with some of the greatest names in jazz and popular music, including Ray Charles, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, and many more. These musicians are also dedicated educators, actively involved in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s extensive educational initiatives. The JLCO performs in concert halls, dance venues, jazz clubs, and collaborates with symphony orchestras, ballet companies, local student groups, and numerous guest artists.
