The year 2024 was a remarkable one for Jaeden Izik-Dzurko, a 25-year-old pianist from British Columbia. In May, he became the first Canadian winner of the Grand Prize in an instrumental edition of the Montreal International Musical Competition (CMIM). Then, in September, he won the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition. His program, featuring works by Bach, Chopin, Scriabin, and Rachmaninoff, will take him to several Canadian cities before he flies to Asia and then Europe to present it.
